Dumbo CSA Kickoff meeting: March 2nd
Before the harvest season, members of the Dumbo Brooklyn CSA commit and pre-pay to buy fresh, locally grown organic vegetables. Art Show Benefit for Woodstock Farm Sanctuary: February 16th
Support the Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary at an art opening at JivamukTea Cafe in NYC. The opening takes place from 7-9pm on Tues, Feb 16th at JivamukTea Cafe in NYC (841 Bway, 2nd Floor). Admission is free. Bob and GoatMusician Nora Balaban with various members of her group MbiraNY will perform Zimbabwe-inspired music. 100% of the art sales go to benefit WFAS! Meet and mingle with the artists, WFAS Co-Founders Jenny Brown and Doug Abel, and members of the Sanctuary's Board of Directors. The show will remain hanging until March 15. |

Heights Clothes and Goods Dropoff Site for Haiti Relief Effort
Perfect Paws at 102 Hicks Street (corner Pineapple St), is acting as a collection point for good condition clothes, canned goods, can openers, shoes, linens, and bottled water. By hosting a convenient local collection site, Tom and the crew at Perfect Paws are hoping Brooklyn Heights area residents can generously donate their spare items taking up room in their closets. All items collected will be donated to churches that will ship the items directly to Haiti. |

Makers Market: Sundays, 11 am - 5 pm
The farmers and food artisans from the Park Slope Farmers Market sell their local produce and handcrafted food along side the Makers who sell artisanal wares, art and design products. Along with local produce, wine, honey, farmstead cheese and gourmet breads, shoppers will find unique artisinal products such as stained glass panels, curiously decorated functional pottery, carefully crafted, wearable fine art, woven glass sculptures, delicious confections and much more.
The event runs from 11 am to 5 pm on Sundays at the OA Can Factory on Third St, between Third and Fourth Avenue.

Brooklyn Flea Moves Indoors for the Winter: January 9th - March 28th
The Brooklyn Flea Market, a venue for handmade, vintage, and unique treasures, has found indoor space for this winter. The flea will set up shop at the Williamsburg Savings Bank Tower in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. The organizers plan on hosting vendors on the main floor and that food will be featured soon. Stop by to see this unique building and support local artisans and crafters. Brooklyn Flea Winter Market, 1 Hanson Pl., at Flatbush Ave. Saturdays and Sundays from 1/9 to 3/28. |
