Hudson River ValleyRock Against Racism: April 17th

On Saturday, April 17, 2010, from 12:00-9:00 PM on the SUNY New Paltz Old Main Quad, New Paltz NORML/SSDP will be hosting the 11th annual Rock Against Racism music festival and political rally. Rock Against Racism is a free community event geared towards cultivating communal unity, as well as raising awareness about the failure and racial disparities of the War on Drugs and its impact on our society and future. This year’s event will feature headliner and legendary hip-hop artist KRS-One as well as keynote speaker Reverend Kenny Glasgow. Other musical guests scheduled for the festival include Tony Vacca and World Rhythms, Bushido Garvey, Black August, as well as speakers Reverend Larry Ellis, Radio Rahim, and event founder, Rob Robinson, with more performers to be announced. The festival is free and open to the public and will offer a variety of vendors and displays including food, artwork, clothing, charities, and more.
