Kids Need A Melody, Inc. is seeking a teacher to co-lead music classes at a residential facility in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. The Developmental Music Teacher will assist the Lead Music Teacher in singing songs and movement activities specifically designed to encourage learning and support developmental milestones. In addition, the Developmental Music Teacher will develop strategies with specific children who are having difficulty attending in class, following direction or other challenges in participating. The Developmental Music Teacher will work with the classroom teachers to design and implement strategies to ensure that every child is able to enjoy the classes. A teacher, social worker, play therapist, music therapist, special educator or professional with a background in child development and knowledge of milestones is preferred. Ability to carry a tune is appreciated! Two back to back 45-minute music classes will be provided in two different classrooms, one with 3-4 year olds and one with 4-5 year olds. A third class may be added in the infant and toddler room. Pay rate ranges from $40-$50 per class.
