Responsibilities: • Works with the CTO team to identify and evaluate new technologies as they relate to the company’s current and future plans. • Participates in the development of test routines to certify the company’s products for load-bearing capacity, performance, and resiliency. • Assists in the selection, acquisition, deployment, configuration, and operation of lab systems in support of the Product Development team. Systems include network, telephony, and wireless paging equipment. • Provides telephony and VoIP engineering support for Product Development, Professional Services, and Customer Service departments. • Contributes to product development projects as expertise is needed. • Provides training to others on various topics related to equipment, protocols, technologies, and techniques used in network, telephony, and wireless products. • Consults on technical issues. • Prepares and maintains technical documents, drawings and system documentation and participates in the installation of network equipment and software. • Participates in conducting customer site studies. • Assists in conducting diagnostic routines and testing to identify problems. • Provides testing, repair, calibration, configuration and support of Zetron paging encoders. • Provides assembly and installation of circuit boards for TDD/RIM interface • Provides testing and support for Enterprise Alert bypass boxes • Provides configuration support and ability to repair XID interface units for use in 911 implementations
Qualifications: • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline and at least five years of experience in the design, installation, operation, and troubleshooting of network and telephony products. A combination of education and related work experience will be considered. • Expertise with analog, digital, and VoIP telephony equipment and protocols. • Expertise with network equipment and protocols. • Expertise with test and troubleshooting equipment and techniques. • Knowledge of wireless communications technologies • Knowledge of Zetron paging encoders and general paging concepts • General knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies. • General knowledge of business functions and general awareness of business operations. • General knowledge of circuit board level hardware and soldering • Working knowledge of protocol analyzer
